RIYADH: Saudi Arabia reported on Monday 39 new deaths from COVID-19 and 4,507 new cases infection, the health ministry said.
The ministry said 3,170 patients had recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 87,890.
The highest number of recorded cases was in the capital, Riyadh, with 1,658 registered patients, Jeddah second with 413 cases and Makkah third with 389 cases.
The number of deaths recorded since the pandemic began has now reached more than 1,000 and the total number of cases has exceeded 132,000.
The global death rate now stands at 433,490 and the total number of infected cases worldwide has almost reached eight million.

RIYADH: Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Jaber met with a negotiating delegation concerned with detainees in the country on Thursday, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
During the meeting in Riyadh, the ambassador commended the significant efforts by the negotiating team, which recently culminated in an agreement.
He also reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s continued support for the complete release of all detainees, abductees and forcibly disappeared persons from all parties.
During the meeting, he emphasized the importance of completing implementation procedures, exchanging lists and records, and expediting the execution of the agreed mechanism for the exchange process.
