RIYADH: Saudi Arabia's King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Thursday condoled with the leadership of Burundi over the death of President Pierre Nkurunziza.
King Salman offered his condolences in a message to Evarist Ndayeshembe, the new president of Burundi.
"We express to your Excellency, the family of the deceased, and your friendly people in the name of the people and the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and in the name of our warmest condolences, and my sincere sympathy, hoping that you will not see any misfortune or harm," he said.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Kingdom's deputy prime minister and minister of defense, also sent a message of condolences to Ndayeshembe.
"I have received the news of the death of His Excellency Mr. Pierre Nkurunziza, and I express to your Excellency and the family of the deceased my sincere condolences and sincere sympathy, and I wish you continued health and safety, and do not see any ill," he said.
Nkurunziza, who became president of Burundi in 2005, died on June 8 at a young age of 55.
