NEW YORK: Saudi Arabia is committed to the exploration and utilization of outer space for solely peaceful purposes, the UN heard on Tuesday.
During a debate organized by the First Committee on Disarmament and International Security, during the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, Saudi Second Secretary Fahad Abu-Haimid stressed the importance of international legal agreements and regulations designed to prevent the weaponization of space. He added that any attempt to place armaments in space would cause serious harm to the whole world.
