More than 3.87 million held for residency, labor violations across Saudi Arabia

  • More than 1,587 Saudis were arrested for harboring people who had breached local laws

RIYADH: More than 3.87 million violators of residency, work and border security systems have been arrested in Saudi Arabia, according to an official report.
Since the campaign began in November 2017, a total of 3,024,270 people have been held for violating residency regulations, 595,796 for labor violations and 252,128 for border violations, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Figures released on Saturday showed that of the 65,679 people arrested while trying to cross the border into the Kingdom, 45 percent were Yemeni, 52 percent Ethiopian and the remainder of other nationalities.
A total of 2,785 people were arrested for trying to cross the border into neighboring countries, and 4,522 were held for involvement in transporting and harboring offenders. More than 1,587 Saudis were arrested for harboring people who had breached local laws.
The total number of offenders subject to procedures is 14,979, comprising 13,097 men and 1,882 women.
Immediate penalties were imposed on 539,059 offenders; 492,927 were transferred to diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents; 645,114 were transferred to complete their travel reservations, and 962,234 were deported.

Saudi King Salman receives message from Russian president

  • The two officials reviewed strong relations between Saudi Arabia and Russia

RIYADH: King Salman received a written message from Russian President Vladmir Putin regarding ties between the two countries.

Russian Ambassador to the Kingdom Sergey Kozlov delivered the message to Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Elkhereiji in Riyadh, the Foreign Ministry wrote in a post on X on Tuesday. 

The two officials reviewed strong relations between Saudi Arabia and Russia and discussed the latest regional and international developments, as well as the efforts made in this regard.
