OIC defies US announcement, declares Jerusalem capital of Palestine (Source: The Nation)

The Nation report by news agencies from Istanbul states that the recently held OIC summit defied US recognition of Jerusalem as capital of Israel and declared East Jerusalem the capital of Palestine. Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, representing Pakistan in the summit, maintained that an independent Palestinian state with East Al Quds Al Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital is the only way forward for Muslim Ummah (community) and Palestine.
