RIYADH: The Defense Ministers of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) will hold their first meeting in Riyadh under the theme "Allied against Terrorism" on November 26, 2017 in participation of the member states' defense ministers and the diplomatic missions accredited to the Kingdom.
The meeting aims to consolidate bonds of cooperation and integration within the coalition and represents the effective beginning of the IMCTC efforts, which included 41 Islamic states, to coordinate and unify efforts in fighting extremism and extremism in addition to integration with other international efforts.
“The meeting of the defense ministers aims to strengthen cooperation and integration between the Islamic Military Alliance members,” said a report published by Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on Saturday. The meeting will also be attended by ambassadors and senior diplomats representing their countries in Saudi Arabia, alongside top Saudi and IMCTC officials, said the SPA report.
The meeting will discuss a host of subjects including ways to establish the IMCTC as a major bloc to address security challenges and terrorism issues. The defense ministers will formally discuss plans and proposals to unify the efforts of the Islamic alliance and promote coordination with other international agencies.
The coalition was established to achieve the coalition's message and provide an institutional platform for proposals and discussions in order to facilitate ways of cooperation among the member states and the countries supporting initiatives within framework of fields of military, intellectual, media and combating terrorism financing.

Saudi wildlife center releases 140 wild animals into royal reserve

RIYADH: The National Center for Wildlife released 140 wild animals into the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve as part of ongoing programs to reintroduce endangered species. The initiatives aim to enhance ecological balance and restore biodiversity in natural habitats.
The release, carried out in cooperation with the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority, included 30 Arabian oryx, 70 reem gazelles (sand gazelles), and 40 houbara bustards, the SPA reported on Thursday.
The initiative forms part of efforts to reintroduce species to their natural habitats and establish stable, self-sustaining wildlife populations capable of breeding, contributing to improved ecosystem functioning and sustainability.
The NCW continues to implement its strategic plans for wildlife development, with the total number of animals reintroduced through its specialized programs now exceeding 10,000.
