JEDDAH: Saudi Border Guards foiled efforts to smuggle 536.82kg of hashish into Saudi Arabia and arrested 10 smugglers.
Border Guards spokesman Col. Saher Al-Harbi said that many attempts were made to infiltrate the Kingdom’s borders in Jazan and Najran to smuggle narcotics.
“As a result, 10 smugglers were arrested, six of whom were Ethiopians, one Yemeni, one Somali and two Saudis,” he said. He added that 536.82kg of hashish was seized in their possession.
Al-Harbi confirmed that the hashish was confiscated and the smugglers were transferred to the appropriate authorities for prosecution.
He said that these strikes against drug smugglers were supported by Interior Minister Prince Abdul Aziz bin Saud bin Naif and based on his directives, and were directly supervised by the director general of the Border Guards, Gen. Awad bin Eid Al-Balawi.

RIYADH: King Salman received a written message from Russian President Vladmir Putin regarding ties between the two countries.
Russian Ambassador to the Kingdom Sergey Kozlov delivered the message to Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Elkhereiji in Riyadh, the Foreign Ministry wrote in a post on X on Tuesday.
The two officials reviewed strong relations between Saudi Arabia and Russia and discussed the latest regional and international developments, as well as the efforts made in this regard.
