JEDDAH: A consulting company is being appointed to study private sector involvement in three public transport projects in the Jeddah area.
King Salman approved the contract, which will be formed with the public transport operator.
It centers on three projects: The Jeddah Corniche Tram, a sea taxi service and the Obhor Bridge.
The possible involvement of the private sector in some public transport projects is in line with aims of the Saudi Vision 2030 reform plan.
The planned sea taxi project will have 20 stations and a capacity estimated at 29,000 passengers per hour.
