IDB cricket tourney takes off

JEDDAH: The Islamic Development Bank Intra-Bank cricket tournament sponsored by GBEST and organized by the SOCOM took off recently at the bank’s Greenlawn ground recently.
This event is being held as part of the IDB’s 40th anniversary celebration.
Three matches were played during the first week of the tourney.
IDB-White beat IDB-Blue by 5 wickets, IDB-Blue routed IDB-Green by 41 runs and in the last match IDB-Red lost to IDB-Green by seven wickets.
In the first match IDB-White scored 120 runs from their stipulated 12 overs. Taimour Khan was the highest scorer with 30 runs. Siddique Zafar got 14. Qasim Zia bagged two wickets.
In reply, IDB-Blue reached their target after 12 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Mudassir Khan scored a match winning 44 runs followed Irfan Shaharyar’s 15.

In the second match, IDB-Blue made first use of the track and totaled 169 runs from their stipulated overs. Jahanzeb (50), and Irfan Mirza (50), and Shaharya (26) made that possible.
In reply IDB-Green fell short by 41 runs as they managed 128 runs. Skipper Zeeshan was the highest scorer with 50 runs. He was supported by Mohammed, who got 26.

In third match IDB-Red batted first and put on board 118 runs. Skipper Asif Mahmoud top scored with 28 runs.
In reply IDB-Green reached their target for the loss of three wickets. Skipper Abdul Rouf Janjonia was the highest run getter with 38 runs.
