Staying in the UAE this holy month? Fancy a treat with the family? Try one of these restaurant iftar-turned-home delivery concepts during lockdown.
The almost always fully booked iftar popup makes its way to homes this holy month. The ten-dish Middle East cuisine sharing menu ($55 per person) features dishes such as sumac marinated chicken wrapped in kunafa with mango chili relish and the signature slow braised shoulder of lamb.
Try the hotel’s “Superior Iftar” ($50 for two), which includes hot and cold mezze, chicken machboos, biryani and kunafa.
The Dubai Hills Golf Club restaurant’s roast delivery comes in beef, chicken, lamb or a veggie patty option with all the trimmings; plus homemade scones for an extra treat. Price available on request.
An exclusive menu put together by owner and executive chef Lily Hoa Nguyen, with a starter, salad, small soup and main dish for $27 per person.
Order as a two-course iftar, or choose from three limited-edition dishes: Baked Truffle Brie en Croûte ($18), slow braised lamb shank ($32) or the Burrata-Ricotta Rose Kunafa ($11).
Priced at $53 per person, the iftar special comes with white miso soup with spring onion, beef, ginger and sesame dumplings, spicy mixed seafood with avocado and asparagus, a choice of beef fillet or salmon fillet teriyaki and much more.
