RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has condemned Iran’s targeting of one of the nation’s tankers, Sidra, while it was crossing the Strait of Hormuz, saying members of the vessel’s crew were killed. The Foreign Ministry also condemned Iran’s attacks on Jordan, Bahrain and Kuwait, and expressed full support and solidarity with the three countries in measures taken to protect their security and sovereignty. Saudi Arabia called for an end to the escalation, respect for the safety of international navigation and global energy supplies, and adherence to the principles of good neighborliness, state sovereignty, the UN Charter and international law. “The Kingdom calls on all parties to calm down, stop escalation, respect international law and return to negotiations and peaceful solutions,” the ministry stated.
