ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani on Monday vowed to strengthen ties with the UAE.
He met with Emirati Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi and discussed matters of mutual interest.
Pakistan and the UAE “share a common dream for development and prosperity… as the relationship between the two countries is embedded in history,” said Sanjrani.
“Parliament is the face of the country, and will play its active role to build on the existing cordial relations,” he added.
“Parliamentary linkages will be strengthened, and the potential for enhancing economic cooperation will be exploited to further cement bilateral relations,” he said.
“A large number of Pakistanis are contributing to the development of the UAE, while the UAE is supporting Pakistan to pursue economic development and social uplifting initiatives,” he added.
“The UAE can benefit from the improved security situation in Pakistan and invest in different sectors to boost trade and economic ties,” he said.
“UAE investors can benefit from investment opportunities in CPEC (the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) and Gwadar port.”
Sanjrani said he will invite the speaker of the UAE Consultative Council to visit Pakistan to promote parliamentary relations.
