ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan received Chairman Saudi Shoura Council Dr. Abdullah Mohammad Ibrahim Al Sheikh and other members of his delegation in Islamabad on Thursday.

The delegation is on a 3-day visit to Pakistan on the invitation of Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani.

Welcoming the delegation, Khan underscored the importance of parliamentary exchanges between the two countries for greater understanding of each other’s legislative systems.

According to an official handout circulated by the Prime Minister’s Office on Thursday, he expressed his satisfaction at the recent developments in the Pakistan-Saudi relations, particularly the landmark visit of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in February this year.

Khan greatly appreciated the crown prince’s visionary leadership and resolve to put Saudi Arabia on the path of modernization.

He also expressed the hope for an early release of Pakistani prisoners in Saudi Arabia, as promised by the crown prince during his visit.

The prime minister also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the Kingdom’s peace and security and sanctity of Harmain Sharifain.

He conveyed his best wishes to King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.

Dr. Abdullah Mohammad Ibrahim Al Sheikh conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the Saudi leadership to Prime Minister Khan.

He expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to him and members of his delegation by the government of Pakistan and expressed his commitment to continue working for closer and deeper links between the parliaments of the two brotherly countries.
