ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia’s permanent representative to the UN, Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Moallami, met with Pakistan’s newly appointed envoy, Munir Akram, at his office on Wednesday, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Akram was appointed as Pakistan’s permanent representative to the UN in New York succeeding Maleeha Lodhi on September 30 and assumed his office this month.
Al-Moallami welcomed Akram and extended good wishes for his new role, the SPA reported.
During the meeting, the two officials discussed bilateral relationship and cooperation between the countries. They also discussed current political developments in the international scenario.
Akram had earlier represented his country on the same portfolio from 2002 to 2008.
