ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki on Friday received Pakistan’s Religious Affairs Minister Noorul Haq Qadri in his office and discussed matters of mutual interests.

The Saudi envoy also met Senator Hafiz Abdul Karim and deliberated on various issues, including mechanisms to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have always enjoyed friendly relations. However, their bilateral ties have strengthened further after Prime Minister Imran Khan assumed his country’s top political office last year.

Pakistan faced tremendous economic hardships when the present political administration took over the reins of power. However, the Kingdom’s top leadership rescued the country by offering it a generous economic relief package.

The two countries also signed several memoranda of understanding during Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to Islamabad earlier this year.

There were also several exchanges of high-profile delegations between them throughout the year during which Pakistan also participated in the Kingdom’s Makkah Route program for the first time.
