ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia on Saturday strongly condemned a deadly bombing that targeted a mosque on Friday in the southwestern Pakistani city of Quetta, resulting in the deaths of at least 15 people, and leaving dozens injured, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

In a statement, the kingdom’s ministry of foreign affairs reiterated its disapproval against the spilling of innocents’ blood and violating the sanctity of mosques. It forwarded condolences and consolations to the families of all victims as well as to the government and people of Pakistan.

The suicide blast ripped through the crowded mosque during Friday evening prayers, and was claimed by Daesh in a statement. This was the second militant attack in Quetta in a week and has sparked concerns about security in restive Balochistan province.
