ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will host a three-day international conference in Islamabad starting on Tuesday, focusing on how local governments can help implement sustainable development goals (SDGs) to eradicate poverty, improve living standards, and address environmental issues and economic inequality.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will reportedly address the closing session of the conference, titled “Think Globally, Act Locally.”

District government heads from across Pakistan will attend, as will mayors of cities in China, Russia, South Korea, Indonesia and Taiwan.

The organizers are also expecting delegates from Britain, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Nepal and other countries.
