ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s COVID-19 recovery rate jumped to 94.4 percent while the death rate remained at 2.1 percent on Monday with the health ministry crediting it to a consistent decline in new infections reported.
It added that nine people had succumbed to the disease in the past 24 hours, adding to the total fatality count of 6,244, while four deaths were reported on Sunday – the lowest in recent months.
This was in addition to 496 people who had tested positive for the disease in the same period, taking the total to 293,261 cases.
“After tireless strides, since the first coronavirus case was reported in the country, a total of 246,3513 tests were conducted so far. Around 735 hospitals were equipped with COVID facilities with 1,173 patients admitted across the country,” the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) said on Sunday.
Pakistan lifted its anti-coronavirus restrictions earlier this month and reopened tourism and a few other sectors.
