ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Oman have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to boost military cooperation between the two countries, the Pakistani defense ministry has said.
The memorandum was signed at the Ministry of Defense Complex in Muscat on Wednesday, Pakistan’s ministry of defense said in a statement.
Ahsan Wagan the Ambassador of Pakistan to Muscat, and Muhammad bin Nasir bin Muhammad Alrasbithe, Secretary General of Oman’s Ministry of Defense, signed the MoU which “aims to frame the aspects of military cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in a way that enhances the existing cooperation and serves the common interests of the two friendly countries.”
The statement said the MoU would “surely contribute toward further strengthening Pak-Oman bilateral diplomatic relations in general and military cooperation in particular.”
Pakistan and Oman have close ties and a large number of Pakistanis work and live in Oman.
