ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Consulate in Jeddah organized a reception that was attended by a large number of diplomats, Saudi officials and Pakistani expatriates to celebrate the country’s national day.

Addressing the ceremony, which began with the national anthems of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, Consul General Shehryar Akbar Khan welcomed the guests at the event and told them how the Muslims of Subcontinent passed a resolution on 23rd March 1940 to establish an independent state for themselves.

Khan said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were tied in a close and multifaceted brotherly relationship which enjoys the support of people of both countries.

He also noted that regular interaction between the high officials of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia demonstrated the depth of relationship between the two friendly nations. The counsel general thanked King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their continued support to Pakistan.

Later on, the guests cut the cake to commemorate the day and prayed for the integrity, safety and development of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
