LAHORE: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Saturday expressed his confidence that the democratic system in the country would keep on flourishing as there was no room for any judicial martial law or any other coup.
He was addressing the inauguration ceremony of first CCV line and aluminum alloy manufacturing plant in the Sunder Industrial Estate.
He said in the upcoming general election in July, only the electorate would decide the fate of the next government and their decision would be accepted by everyone.
In the meanwhile, he added, the country’s journey of development and prosperity would continue.
The prime minister also pointed out that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government faced energy and power challenges, but it had resolved the energy issues by adding 10,400MW of power to the national grid.
Abbasi said the government had performing well during its tenure, adding that its output was matchless since it had resolved the energy issues for the next fifteen years.
He also regretted that after the 1999 coup, a case was registered against the top PML-N leader, Nawaz Sharif, for setting up Sunder Industrial Estate.
The prime minister said it was an irony that those who served the country were punished instead of being given respect and honor.
He also wondered why people who were rejected in the last general election by the public were preaching morality and integrity to PML-N leadership.
