ISLAMABAD: A special Pakistan Navy ship carrying medical assistance from Bahrain reached the port Karachi on Sunday.
PNS NASR brought medical equipment to support Pakistan's coronavirus response, as despite a recent drop in new infections, the country is still facing a third wave of the pandemic.
"The medical supplies assistance has been gifted to Pakistan by Kingdom of Bahrain," the Pakistan Navy said in a statement after the shipment was received in Karachi.
"The supplies will facilitate improving medical infrastructure and response towards COVID-19 emergencies."
Pakistan reported 2,379 new coronavirus cases and 76 deaths in the past 24 hours. Over 4,376 COVID-19 patients remain in critical care.
