KARACHI: It was an event which saw Pakistan’s army, navy, and the military join hands as all three forces took to the sea to entertain citizens and dignitaries alike at the “Karachi show” which took place on the sidelines of a trade exhibition for internationally and locally-manufactured arms and weapons in the city.

The 10th International Defense Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) was inaugurated by President Dr. Arif Alvi on Tuesday and ends today.

“The hallmark of the third day [of IDEAS] remained the mega-display of professional acumen by the tri-services at the “Karachi Show” held at Nishan-e-Pakistan,” a spokesman for the ISPR’s navy wing said.

Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister Sindh graced the occasion as the chief guest while Punjab governor Choudhary Sarwar also attended the event.

During the show, the Pakistan navy’s aviation units, marines, and special forces demonstrated special skills and capabilities in the form of tri-services’ counter-terrorism demo, flypasts, static and freefall jumps, beach assault, and rifle drill.

“Captain Imran Rana PN, Commander SSG (Navy) led the freefall jump and landed amidst chanting crowds present at the venue,” the spokesman said.

Speaking on the occasion, Shah said that the show is an example of the resolve and preparedness of Pakistan’s armed forces in contributing peace in the region.

A large number of civil and military officials, foreign and national dignitaries, families, and war veterans were also present at the occasion.
