ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan's upcoming visit will give a "new dimension and impetus" to Pakistani-Saudi relations, Tahir Ashrafi, the PM's special aide on the Middle East said on Wednesday.
On the invitation of Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman, Khan is scheduled to visit Riyadh by the end of Ramadan.
Ashrafi's statement follows his meeting with Saudi envoy to Islamabad, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, on Wednesday.
"Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are knotted in eternal relationship and the visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Saudi Arabia will give a new dimension and impetus to these relations," Ashrafi said after the meeting.
"Brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are exemplary and time tested," he said, adding that Saudi Arabia is the "center of unity and solidarity of Muslim Ummah and the hearts of entire Muslim Ummah beat with the Harmain Al-Sharifain."
Last week, Ashrafi revealed that a special focus of the visit would be to increase Pakistan's cooperation in the recently launched Saudi Green revolution project.

The crown prince last month called the leaders of Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, and Sudan to discuss a massive regional tree-planting project.
The Saudi Green Initiative is part of the prince’s Vision 2030 plan to reduce its reliance on oil revenues and improve quality of life.
