ISLAMABAD: Former New Zealand cricketers Danny Morrison, Scott Styris and Chris Harris will feature in a star-studded commentary panel for the upcoming Kiwis' tour of Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Friday.
New Zealand are scheduled to play two Test matches in Pakistan with the series scheduled to take off this month. The two sides will lock horns on December 26 at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi and will travel to Multan for the second Test match, which will be played from January 3-7.
Pakistan and New Zealand will then play three One Day Internationals (ODIs) in the southern port city of Karachi on January 10, 12 and 14 to end the tour.
In September 2021, New Zealand dealt a severe blow to Pakistan's hopes of reviving international cricket at home when the Black Caps abruptly abandoned the Pakistan tour minutes before the first ball of the series was to be bowled in Rawalpindi. The Kiwis cited a security alert as the main reason to abandon their tour of Pakistan.
In a statement, the PCB announced the commentary panel which would feature in the ODI and Test series.
"Bazid Khan, Chris Harris, Danny Morrison (ODIs only), Scott Styris (second test and ODIs), Simon Doull (Tests only), Urooj Mumtaz and Waqar Younis will call action during New Zealand’s historic tour," the PCB said.
"Sikander Bakht will host the pre- and post-match show, Pitch Side, which will provide the viewers in-depth analysis of the action," the board added.
The PCB said that 27 high-definition cameras, including the buggy cam, will be available for the series. The complete Hawkeye review system will also be available for the cricket series.
New Zealand rescheduled their series with Pakistan after the South Asian country successfully hosted Australia and England this year.
