MARDAN: Bosnia and Herzegovina appointed a young Pakistani industrialist, Asad Saleem, as its honorary counsel general for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province.
In a ceremony organised on Wednesday in Mardan, the second largest city in KP; Bosnia and Herzegovina’s ambassador to Pakistan Sakib Foric described the relations between Pakistan and Bosnia as a complementary partners for regional balance, growth and partnership for well being.
“In the independence of Bosnia, Pakistan played an important role in which our nation is well-versed,” Ambassador Sakib said.
Ambassador Sakib added that this consulate will strengthen ties in the field of trade, agriculture, sports and textiles, calling it a beginning of a “new chapter of renewed diplomatic relations between the two countries.”
Honorary Consulate Asad Saleem told Arab News that he will focus on points of strength between Bosnia and Pakistan.
“it’s high time to make things happen between Bosnia and Pakistan, I can see a lot of opportunities in the fields of business, culture, sports, and education.”
Russia, last month, inaugurated its consulate in KP and said that the consulate will promote bilateral friendship and cooperation in various sectors.
