Kerry allays Gulf concerns

US Secretary of State John Kerry has reiterated America’s commitment to GCC security and to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
The assurance came in a telephone conversation with GCC foreign ministers on Sunday.
They discussed the latest developments in the talks between the Group of p5+1 negotiations with Iran over Tehran’s nuclear program in the conference call.
Kerry stressed that any agreement reached by the Group of 5 +1 with Iran will prevent Iran from obtaining weapons of mass destruction.
It also makes Iran subject to a precise, continuous and rigorous inspection mechanism, he said.
Kerry also stressed that the US administration is keen to strengthen and intensify consultation and coordination with GCC countries.
