Civil Defense rescues two lost children

A four-year-old girl and her three-year-old brother went missing while they were on a family trip to Raghdan Forest in Al-Baha province. The children were reported missing at 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday evening.
The parents contacted the Civil Defense who passed the information to safety patrol units stationed in the forest, said Lt. Col. Jam’an bin Dayis Al-Ghamdi, spokesman of the Civil Defense in Al-Baha.
The two siblings were later found by the safety patrols in the forest safe and sound. The worried parents were grateful to the Civil Defense for bringing back the children from the forest which covers an area of 600,000 square meters.
In related news, Al-Ghamdi said that the Civil Defense was notified at 12:42 p.m. on Monday that a fire had broken out in a farming area in Ribyan village. “Six fire-fighting units and a number of security officers were called to the site to support the rescue and firefighting units and paramedics,” Al-Ghamdi said.
He said that heavy trucks were also sent to the wooded area to open up a path for the civil defense patrols to put out the blaze.
