Water and Electricity Minister Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman Al-Hussayen handed out supply chain management diplomas to trainees of the German Management Academy (DMAN) at a local hotel yesterday.
Saudi engineers of the National Water Company (NWC), Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) and Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) participated in the training.
The training was “another step toward German transfer of technology and know-how to Saudi Arabia and provided great opportunities for the participants,” he said.
Andreas Hergenroether, delegate of German Industry for Saudi Arabia, said: “Educating young Saudis with marketable skills and capacity for innovation and entrepreneurship is one of the cornerstones of long-term companies.”
“Investing in training and education,” he added, “has been a top priority for German companies.”
He added that through the German Ministry of Education and Research, a study about the Saudi education and training sectors has been published.
The training was supported by the Minister of Water and Electricity and organized by the DMAN represented by Yousef Nahhas, DMAN project manager and Detlev Daues, DMAN shareholder and V-Line chief executive officer.
