New envoy to boost Saudi-Australian ties

The newly appointed Saudi Ambassador to Australia, Nabeel bin Muhammad Al-Saleh, said he would work for strengthening bilateral ties and taking care of some 8,000 Saudi students and their dependents in the country.
He thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Crown Prince Salman for his new appointment.
Al-Saleh highlighted the growing economic and political relations between Saudi Arabia and Australia. “Both countries are members of G20,” he pointed out.
“There are more than 8,000 Saudi students in Australian universities and institutes, with their dependents the number will reach 13,000,” the ambassador said. They are mostly recipients of King Abdullah Foreign Scholarship.
Al-Saleh also spoke about the strategic dialogue between the GCC and Australia to expand their relations.
The Institute of Diplomatic Studies in Riyadh held a meeting on the occasion of Al-Saleh’s appointment and discussed Saudi-Australian political, economic and cultural relations. Al-Saleh had previously worked as the Kingdom’s consul general in Geneva.
