He said the newly expanded state-of-the-art operation rooms at Al-Noor Hospital in Makkah have started receiving patients.
The minister made this statement during an inspection tour of health facilities in Makkah and other holy places. His tour covered the East Arafat Hospital and the new expansion projects at Al-Noor Hospital.
“The minister expressed his happiness over the progress of work at these hospitals and other health centers,” said Dr. Khaled Mirghalani, spokesman of the ministry.
Al-Rabeeah stressed the government’s efforts to provide quality health services to people in Makkah and other parts of the country.
Hamad Al-Laheedan, supervisor of the maternity and children’s hospital, briefed the minister on the advanced health facilities inside the hospital. He said it has 90 beds for newly born children and 30 beds to take care of older children.
“The hospital is able to expand in the future,” Al-Laheedan said. Al-Rabeeah urged an expert team to make sure that the hospital is operated according to the highest standards and quality.
The hospital will be fully furnished and equipped by the middle of next year at a cost of SR300 million.
The East Arafat Hospital, which has 236 beds, was established at a cost of SR70 million. Al-Rabeeah visited the hospital’s emergency and intensive care units.
Mirghalani said 10 new health centers are being constructed in Mina at a total cost of SR40 million. The minister instructed that the new health centers should be ready before the coming Haj season.
