“The two suspects deceived the victim by telling him they could get him Saudi citizenship for a large sum of money. When the victim agreed and paid the amount, the duo disappeared,” said Brig. Misfer Al-Juaid, Jeddah police spokesman.
Al-Juaid said the victim informed the police immediately about the fraud. “Police conducted an intensive search, which resulted into the suspects’ arrest. The two — one in his 20s and the other in his 30s — are unemployed and currently in custody for further questioning.”
Meanwhile a 28-year-old Arab man was arrested in the Safah neighborhood on the suspicion of stealing more than SR60,000 from several shops and stores in the area.
“The suspect’s arrest follows several reports in both Safah and Rawbwah districts about stolen cash from shops,” said Brig. Al-Juaid. He added that police investigators found the suspect’s fingerprints from the crime scenes.
“During investigations, the 28-year-old suspect admitted to his crimes. If convicted, he would face a jail term to be followed by deportation,” said Brig. Al-Juaid.
