Opening the office on Sunday, he said the move is in line with the decision of the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs to proceed with the expropriation of real estate located in Al-Ruwais area that are included in the project as mandated by pertinent decree and subsequent resolutions to that effect.
The mayor also urged property owners to cooperate with the project developer by completing the necessary information and submitting photocopies of documents to the Owners' Relations Office.
Meanwhile, Board Chairman Saleh Malaikah said Al-Ruwais Development Project is an important step in the development of slums, as it is based on the participation of property owners in the mega strategic plan introduced by the Jeddah Municipality with the support of Makkah Gov. Prince Khalid Al-Faisal. The governor envisioned to convert slum areas in Makkah province into security, social, economic, architectural and housing development phases that will showcase urban living replete with cultural, heritage, tourism, transportation and infrastructure services.
