RIYADH: The government has increased the pay for teachers at the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), a move aimed at attracting highly qualified personnel, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday.
The higher authorities also approved the King Abdullah External Scholarship Program to send Saudi trainees to programs in technological institutes abroad.
The government orders also included the fee exemption to secondary school graduates for joining parallel training programs at 120 colleges and institutes of technology and communication in various provinces.
“The orders of the higher authorities will go a long way to achieve the objectives of the corporation to improve the national work force in various professional and technical specializations in order to meet the demands of the Kingdom’s job market,” TVTC Gov. Ali bin Nasser Al-Ghafees said at a press conference in Jeddah on the sidelines of the first conference of the heads of the Council of Technical and Vocational Training and the rectors of technical colleges on Tuesday.
The two-day conference was organized by the council’s branch in Makkah province. “More than 8,000 training instructors, including women, will benefit from the new pay scale,” Ghafees said.
