RIYADH: SABB Amanah EasyBuy joined the lengthening list of teams with at least two Team of the Week victories when it delivered a strong performance to sweep the 11th week honors in the Interbank Tenpin Bowling League 2008 Conference at the Riyadh InterContinental Hotel Bowling Center here.

Amanah EasyBuy piled on the agony for the slumping SAIB with a comprehensive 420-60 points victory in their match on total pinfalls of 3,844-3,507.

Francis Guron gave EasyBuy a double when he romped off with the Bowler of the Week award, shooting the high series of 910 on lines of 266, 237, 171, 188 and 48 handicap.

Saudi Hollandi Capital –SHC tried but failed to convert its advantage into a Team of the Week victory and had to settle for the week’s second best. Matched against the bye team, SHC came up with 340 points and 3,687 pinfalls. ANB-SAMA, the first team to win three weekly team awards, had another impressive display in a 290-130 victory over SABB Takaful on total pinfalls of 3,560-3,581.

PNB Unified blanked SABB Visa/MasterCard 230-0 (3,509-2,550) and league leader BSF defeated Bank Albilad 210-180 (3,674-3,421) in the other matches in the five-man team league event sponsored by the participating banks in cooperation with their respective team captains.

Amanah EasyBuy did not have to tinker much with its lineup, getting the desired result — and with a bonus to boot — from the single set of five players. Jerry Austria made sure Guron’s efforts do not go to waste by rolling a good backup of 805 points. Ruel Barayoga added 743, Jaffer Al-Kathiri made 716 and skipper Jun Jabonero tallied 670. The victory enabled EasyBuy to improve two places to sixth in the team standings.

Ronald Custodio headed a seven-man SHC onslaught with 833 points. Ed Mendoza at 740 was the only other player to do full games, while Gil Hembra, Clem Salazar, Rodel Yap, Greg Antonio and Efren Castro made piecemeal contributions of 747, 585, 547, 173 and 163 in that order.

The trio of Bernie Torres, Clem Guelas and Teody Zulaybar struck hardest for ANB-SAMA with rounds of 752, 748 and 711, while Noel Morales was the main man at BSF with 779.

Leading PNB Unified were the duo of Ben Torrefiel and Sonny Alviso with 743 and 725.
