JEDDAH, 24 May 2008 — Results of the All India Senior Secondary Examination (Grade XII) conducted in March by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, were declared yesterday, with Neenu Susan George of the International Indian School-Dammam topping Kingdomwide with 94.2 percent marks.
The Dammam school did well with only two students failing out of 367 who sat the exam. Nine students got compartment. Neenu is followed by Fatima Faiyaz Ali and Zayanah Zainuddin with 92.2 percent, and Hafsa Rubiya Yazdani 91.8 percent.
Out of 417 students who appeared for the exam from the International Indian School-Jeddah (IISJ), 294 passed in first division and 74 in second division. Fifteen of the students (3.6 percent) did not get through. Thus the school’s pass percentage is 96.4. The students obtained 727 distinctions in different subjects.
Among the boys, Ibrahim Musba topped in the school by scoring 93.2 percent, followed by Athif Azad and Rizwan Nalkhande who scored 91.6 percent and 87.6 percent, respectively. Among the girls, Bushra Siddiqui topped by scoring 90 percent, followed by Nada Rasheed (89.8 percent) and Syeda Sarah Qadri 89.4 percent.
At the International Indian School-Riyadh (IISR), the pass percentage is 91.39. In all 395 students appeared for the exam. Of them 361 passed and 34 failed. The number of students with first class and distinction is 264, with 58 others in second class and 39 with compartment.
The IISR students have obtained 715 distinctions in various subjects.
Toppers of the school, most of them girls, include Asha Shakeeb with 91.6 percent in first position, followed by Hafsa Quraishi 89 percent and Abbasi Begum Meer Rownaq Ali 88.6 percent. Other toppers include Kavsa Treesa Joseph, Shaibha Pattathi Bhaskaran and Gauri Ghai 87.6 percent, Ahlam Abdul Rahman 87.2, and Rahmath Khatoon Faria 87.2 percent.
International Indian School-Jubail’s 40 students appeared for the exam, with 33 of them passing and three failing. Others passed in compartment. Kinshuk Raizada scored 88 percent, G. Mohammed Shamsuddin 85 percent and Nabeela Zarqaa 84 percent.
