JEDDAH, 19 January 2008 — A tragic event was made worse when evidence of a murder almost ended up being thrown out, the daily Al-Madinah newspaper reported. The evidence in this case was the corpse of a three-year-old baby.

A woman in the southern province of Jizan reportedly strangled her child to death and disposed of the corpse in a garbage bin. Police later found the body and took it to an area hospital.

As the police were investigating the incident they discovered a cleaning worker throwing the body away in a trash bin outside the emergency ward, presumably by accident.
