JEDDAH, 22 August 2005 — Pakistan beat Australia 4-1 in the final yesterday in the Rabobank Field Hockey Tournament in Amsterdam.
A 50th minute goal by M. A. Khan sealed Pakistan’s victory dissolving the game’s last deadlock at 3-3.
Warsi, Zakir and Butt scored in the 17th, 32nd and 42nd minutes for Pakistan’s three other goals.
The goal scorers of Australia were Brooks in the 9th, Schubert in the 24th and Bishop in the 34th minute.
Spain downed South Korea 2-1 in the battle for third and 4th places in the eight-nation tournament where world champions Germany finished a very disappointing sixth.
The Germans suffered a 5-0 defeat by hosts Netherlands, who took fifth place.
India defeated England 2-1 in the match for 7th and 8th places.
