RIYADH: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Jasem Al-Budaiwi received Maria Luisa Fantappie, head of the Mediterranean, Middle East and Africa program at the Institute of International Affairs, at the General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh on Monday.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed a range of issues of mutual concern, including GCC-Italy relations and ways to strengthen them, the General Secretariat said in a statement.
They also discussed proposals and initiatives to expand cooperation between the GCC and the institute, including practical programs and joint activities.
Amid the latest regional developments, the two sides highlighted the importance of de-escalation, as well as promoting security and stability through diplomacy.
