RIYADH: The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Qatar discussed the latest regional developments and diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation on Wednesday.
During a meeting in Riyadh, Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani highlighted the importance of continued coordination, consultation, and the alignment of positions regarding current developments to enhance the effectiveness of efforts to consolidate security and stability in the region, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The ministers affirmed their support for Qatari and Pakistani mediation efforts and the role the two countries play in promoting the resolution of disputes through diplomatic means.
They also emphasized the necessity of continued joint action to ensure the security, safety, and freedom of navigation in the region’s vital maritime corridors.
Sheikh Mohammed is on an official visit to the Kingdom and arrived in Riyadh earlier on Wednesday.
