JEDDAH: Motor Mania GT, a new Saudi-promoted GT racing series, will join the Aramco F4 Saudi Arabian Championship as an official support category beginning in October.
Launched by Altawkilat Motorsport and run under the sporting regulations of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, organizers said the series was designed to expand circuit-racing opportunities in Saudi Arabia and Qatar while providing drivers with an accessible route into GT competition.
The inaugural season will feature a 12-car, multiclass grid, with entries expected from manufacturers such as Ferrari, McLaren, Radical and Ginetta. Each race weekend will feature two 35-minute races with rolling starts, each preceded by a 25-minute practice session and a 25-minute qualifying session. Drivers will be required to hold a valid Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation racing license.

Mohammed Abduljawad, Altawkilat’s chairman and CEO, said the series represented another step in the company’s efforts to grow motor sports across the region.
“Motor Mania GT is an important step in our ambition to build a stronger and more accessible motor sport platform in the region,” he said.
“GT racing has a unique appeal because it combines performance, competition and entertainment, and this format gives more drivers the chance to experience proper wheel-to-wheel racing in a professional environment.

By bringing GT racing alongside the Aramco F4 Saudi Arabian Championship, we are giving drivers, teams and fans another way to engage with motor sport while supporting Altawkilat Motorsport’s ambition to become a regional GT promoter.”

The new championship will form part of a wider race weekend alongside the Aramco F4 Saudi Arabian Championship, as organizers aim to increase the on-track action and broaden the experience for competitors and spectators.
The inaugural four-race season will begin at Jeddah Corniche Circuit on Oct. 2 and 3 and conclude at Lusail International Circuit in Qatar on Dec. 7 and 8.
The launch comes as Saudi Arabia continues to expand its motor sports portfolio by hosting a growing number of international and domestic racing events as part of broader efforts to develop the sport and increase participation across the Kingdom.
