12,000 gifted students complete Mawhiba Summer programs across five countries

RIYADH: The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity, known as Mawhiba, has concluded its summer programs, held in 19 cities across five countries.

The Mawhiba Summer 2026 programs brought together more than 12,000 gifted students from across Saudi Arabia, focusing on innovation, science and technology, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

A total of 53 academic, research and specialized educational institutions in Saudi Arabia, China, Japan, the US and the UK hosted the programs, providing students with advanced learning environments and diverse scientific experiences.

Mawhiba Summer 2026 included academic enrichment, research enrichment, universal enrichment, video game development and specialized technology programs in Saudi Arabia and abroad.

International initiatives included an artificial intelligence program in China in partnership with Huawei, the Mawhiba Ambassadors Program in the US and the UK, and additional academic programs in Japan.

The initiatives were delivered through 88 enrichment modules designed to expand students’ knowledge and develop their skills in fields including human health, energy and industry, leadership, environmental sustainability, basic needs and future economies.

Mawhiba also partnered with the Saudi Digital Academy to offer training in programming, artificial intelligence, video game development, Python and other digital technologies.

New enrichment modules also covered robotics, blockchain, financial technology, space science, environmental sustainability and sports physics, giving students hands-on experience in emerging fields while strengthening critical thinking and teamwork.

Mawhiba Secretary-General Abdulaziz Al-Karidis said that Mawhiba Summer 2026 reflected national efforts to nurture and empower gifted students through high-quality programs.

He said that the initiatives aligned with national priorities and were delivered in partnership with universities and academic and research institutions in Saudi Arabia and abroad.
