DUBAI: French-Algerian model Loli Bahia gave her followers a behind-the-scenes look at Saint Laurent’s summer campaign, “Respiro,” posting a series of images from the Mediterranean shoot on Instagram.
The campaign was created by the French label’s creative director, Belgian designer Anthony Vaccarello, and photographed by South African photographer Henrik Purienne along the Mediterranean coast. “Respiro” translates from Italian as “breath.”
“Saint Laurent Respiro by Anthony Vaccarello, shot by Henrik Purienne,” Bahia wrote in her caption.
Her images captured the relaxed, sun-bleached mood of the shoot. In one frame, she posed with two fellow models in black hooded toweling robes in a garden.
Other shots showed her in a red belted dress inside a room with line-drawing murals, a green ruffled taffeta gown, and an olive swimsuit holding a transparent Saint Laurent surfboard on the beach. A final portrait showed her at the shoreline in a diving mask.
The campaign also features models Vittoria Ceretti, Mona Tougaard, SJ and Jenn du Puy. Saint Laurent’s raffia Panier and Loulou bags appear alongside windbreakers, fluid dresses and the house’s Cassandre logo tank top.
Bahia has a long-standing relationship with the house. She has appeared regularly for Saint Laurent on the runway, most recently at its womenswear spring/summer 2026 show in September, and has been an ambassador for YSL Beauty since January 2023.
Signed to Women Management Paris, she made her runway debut in 2020 at Louis Vuitton’s fall/winter 2021 show, later appearing in the house’s advertising campaign for the same season. Her profile rose during the spring/summer 2022 season, when she walked in 65 shows, and she has since walked for Chanel, Givenchy, Lanvin and Valentino.
Beyond the runway, she has fronted advertising campaigns for Courreges and Max Mara, appeared in Isabel Marant’s fall/winter 2023 campaign, and has graced the cover of Vogue Italia. She has also walked at Milan Fashion Week for Fendi and Michael Kors.
Most recently, she fronted the campaign for YSL Care Crush Hand & Body Serum-In-Cream, unveiled in June, alongside New Zealand-South Korean singer-songwriter Rose.
