DUBAI: Moroccan-Canadian singer, dancer and actress Nora Fatehi has teased her latest single, “Slay to the Rhythm,” sharing a first look with fans ahead of its release on July 31.
Fatehi unveiled the teaser this week on Instagram and her YouTube channel. “Teaser out now on my YouTube channel! Check it out,” she wrote alongside the clip, which shows her dancing through a busy street in a burst of color.
The track is her first solo single since a run of FIFA World Cup releases that kept her at the center of the tournament’s soundtrack.
Last month, she put out “Siir Siir,” a World Cup anthem made with American-Bangladeshi producer Sanjoy and French artist Vegedream, whose 2018 football song “Ramenez la Coupe a la Maison” became a fan favorite.
The music video, directed by Abderrafia El-Abdioui, shows Fatehi performing energetic choreography against a desert backdrop, surrounded by football jerseys and national flags.
She followed it with “Champions (Fi Kol Makan),” a second anthem recorded with Tanzanian musician Rayvanny and Sanjoy, which she called a “victory anthem.”
“I feel so different with this one … it is the most wholesome and emotionally real project I’ve worked on in a very long time,” she wrote of the release.
Fatehi also performed at the FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony in Toronto, Canada, ahead of the tournament co-hosted by the US, Canada and Mexico.
The World Cup is familiar ground for the performer.
In 2022, she appeared on FIFA’s official Qatar World Cup soundtrack “Light the Sky” alongside Emirati-Yemeni singer Balqees, Iraqi artist Rahma Riad and Moroccan singer Manal. The multilingual track marked the first World Cup in the Middle East and became one of the tournament’s signature songs.
Fatehi was not the only Arab artist on this year’s official album. Palestinian-Chilean singer Elyanna featured with “Illuminate,” a collaboration with Canadian singer and songwriter Jessie Reyez.
Born and raised in Canada, Fatehi has often spoken about her pride in her Moroccan heritage. She built her fame in Bollywood with dance numbers including “Dilbar” and “O Saki Saki” before expanding into North African and international pop, and signed a global recording deal with Warner Music Group in 2024.
