KUWAIT CITY/TEHRAN: The Iranian army said Thursday that it would continue its strikes around the region until the attacks on Iran stopped, state television reported.
“The armed forces’ retaliatory attacks will continue as long as the US attacks on the country’s infrastructure and coastal areas continue,” said army spokesperson Mohammad Akraminia according to state TV, adding that the country was ready for “every enemy scenario.”
Bahrain has activated air alert sirens on Thursday afternoon and urged citizens and residents to remain calm and head to nearest safe place, its interior ministry said on social media.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards on Thursday said they attacked US military assets in Kuwait’s Al-Adiri camp and Ali Al-Salem air base as the Kuwaiti army earlier announced it was intercepting hostile drones, following several days of Iranian strikes on the country.
“Kuwaiti air defenses are currently responding to hostile drone threats,” the army said in an overnight message on X. “Any explosions that may be heard are the result of air defense systems intercepting hostile targets.”
Meanwhile, the Jordanian Armed Forces said they had intercepted four Iranian missiles and six Iranian drones over the past 24 hours.
The US military also said early Thursday it completed its latest round of strikes on Iran at President Donald Trump’s direction, marking the 12th successive night of American attacks.
“US forces struck Iranian military targets including maritime capabilities, missile and drone storage facilities, coastal surveillance sites, and air defense assets. The strikes further degrade Iran's ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial vessels,” the US Central Command said on its social media account.
American forces have targeted dozens of Iranian military sites on land while resuming a blockade against Iran at sea, and has redirected nine Iran-linked commercial vessels and disabled one to prevent them access to Iranian ports.
