RIYADH: Saudi Ambassador to France and Monaco Fahad Al-Ruwaili was awarded the National Order of the Legion of Honor, commander rank, by France in recognition of his efforts to strengthen relations between the two friendly countries.
The decoration, conferred by French President Emmanuel Macron, was presented to Al-Ruwaily by Romaric Roignan, director for North Africa and the Middle East at the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, during a ceremony held at the ministry, the Saudi embassy noted in a statement on X on Monday.
Roignan praised the ambassador’s contributions and commended the continued progress in Saudi-French relations across various fields.
Al-Ruwaily expressed his gratitude for the prestigious honor, saying it reflects the significant progress and expanding cooperation between the two friendly nations, the statement noted.
The ceremony was attended by senior French officials, members of the French Parliament, ambassadors accredited to France, officials from the French Foreign Ministry, and members of the Saudi Embassy.
