RIYADH: Abha International Airport, one of the sites operated by Cluster2 Airports, has set a new record for the highest number of flights handled in a single day after recording more than 130 on July 5.
It was reported that the total included 117 domestic and 15 international flights, marking the highest daily operational figure in the airport’s history.
It was noted that the rapid growth of Abha International Airport reflected increasing travel demand and the efficiency of its operational system in handling peak-season traffic, alongside the region’s growing number of events and its natural and cultural attractions, which draw increasing numbers of visitors during the summer season.
It was affirmed that these figures contribute to achieving the objectives of the Aviation Program under the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which aims to expand airport operational capacity and improve service quality, in line with the highest standards.
