TAIZ: As part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts to support Yemenis and alleviate their suffering, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center implemented the eighth phase of its project to operate the Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center in Taiz, from Jan. 1 to May 31.
The project aims to provide prosthetic limbs and physical rehabilitation services for patients with various mobility impairments.
Over the past 12 months, the project manufactured 300 new upper and lower-limb prostheses, provided physical rehabilitation services to 3,900 people, and delivered technical rehabilitation and maintenance services to 700 patients.
It also offered medical and technical consultations to 3,100 beneficiaries, enhancing access to comprehensive rehabilitation services.
The project created 50 employment opportunities for local staff, bringing the total number of beneficiaries served to 8,050.
This contributes to strengthening the sustainability of rehabilitation services and improving the quality and efficiency of care provided to Yemenis.
