RIYADH: The Asir Region Municipality continues to enhance the investment environment in the tourism sector by offering 44 investment sites during the summer season.
This initiative is part of its efforts to empower investors, enrich the visitor experience, and increase the contribution of tourism and entertainment activities to the local economy, amid growing tourism activity across the region.
Mayor of Asir Region, Engineer Abdullah Al-Jali, explained that the municipality is implementing a comprehensive plan to support the tourism season, based on two main tracks. The first track focuses on continuing infrastructure projects and improving the urban landscape, including roads, sidewalks, parks, lighting, and municipal services. The second track focuses on developing investment opportunities and organizing events and activities that enhance the appeal of the region’s cities and governorates during the summer season.
He indicated that the offered investment sites include various activities such as restaurants, cafes, entertainment facilities, and commercial events, catering to visitors’ diverse interests. This provides flexible investment opportunities for entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises, contributing to stimulating economic activity and creating seasonal job prospects.
He emphasized that the region is witnessing continuous growth in both permanent and seasonal investments, with the expansion of shopping centers, restaurants, and cafés as well as retail outlets and services, and a rise in the number of active business licenses. This reflects growing confidence in the investment environment in Asir and the increasing interest of investors in capitalizing on the region’s distinctive tourism and natural assets.
Al-Jali pointed out that the success of seasonal investments stems from coordination among the municipal sector, the Aseer Development Authority, the Ministry of Tourism, and other relevant entities. This collaboration facilitates investment procedures, organizes events according to the highest safety and quality standards, and provides a comprehensive experience for visitors.
He added that urban landscape improvement and city livability projects have contributed to increasing the investment value of sites and enhancing their readiness to host tourism and entertainment projects. This aligns with the region’s development goals and makes Asir an attractive environment for quality investments throughout the year, not just during the summer season.
These efforts come as Asir’s tourism sector continues to grow, supported by infrastructure development, diverse natural and heritage attractions, and an expanding calendar of seasonal events. The momentum strengthens the region’s position as one of the Kingdom’s leading tourism and investment destinations while creating new opportunities across the hospitality, entertainment, services and tourism sectors.
