KYIV: Outbreaks of locust ​development have been detected in Ukraine’s eastern Dnipropetrovsk region, the Ukrainian ‌state ‌service ​on ‌food ⁠safety ​and consumer protection said ⁠on Wednesday.
Locust numbers currently stand at ⁠up to ‌40 ‌insects ​per square ‌meter, ‌the service said.
Ukraine has introduced a “special ‌regime” in the affected area.
A ⁠massive ⁠locust invasion threatened sunflower and other crops in Ukraine’s southern regions in 2025.
