KYIV: Outbreaks of locust development have been detected in Ukraine’s eastern Dnipropetrovsk region, the Ukrainian state service on food safety and consumer protection said on Wednesday.
Locust numbers currently stand at up to 40 insects per square meter, the service said.
Ukraine has introduced a “special regime” in the affected area.
A massive locust invasion threatened sunflower and other crops in Ukraine’s southern regions in 2025.
